Woodland Birds in Chorus Vol 1

Each year migrating birds, from the tropics, descend upon the North American woodlands enlivening them with their vibrant melodies. The Woodland Birds in Chorus series captures the peak Spring choruses of these Neotropical and resident birds. These exquisite stereo recordings are untainted by background music.
This volume contains some of the earlier arrivals and resident birds from pristine woodlands in Kentucky, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Listen to Thrushes, Catbirds, Oven Birds, Warblers, Vireos, Tanagers, Woodpeckers, Ruffed Grouse, Rufous-sided Towhee, and many more.

Track List:

Kentucky Morning: 20:23 min.

It’s a sunny, warm, mid April morning in a remote Kentucky valley. Chipmunks, Blue Jays, Cardinal, Titmice, Wood Thrush, Flickers, Chickadee, are active. A nice Spring chorus of mostly permanent resident birds.

Ohio River Hills: 13:39 min.

Some early migrants, like the Common Yellowthroat, Blue-Grey Gnatcatcher, Redstart, Towhee, Scarlet Tanager, Wood Thrush and other Warblers, join in an early morning chorus near the Ohio River. River valleys are important pathways that migrating birds follow on their journeys. Often, the densest populations of birds are found near major waterways.

Woodland Swamp: 09:00 min.

A small creek flows into a clearing in the woods. A swamp wetland forms, attracting a different variety of birds. Listen to Red-Winged Black birds, Baltimore Oriole, Catbirds, Mourning Doves, Yellowthroat Warblers, Blue-Grey Gnatcatchers, Song Sparrows, Yellow Warblers, Canada Geese, and more

Paradise Hill: 20:40 min.

Listen to the sunrise chorus of birds on a beautiful forest hill. The sounds of birds gradually increase as the sun rises. Robins, Oven Birds, Wood Thrush, Rufous-Sided Towhees sing and gather worms to feed their young. Crows fly over in search of food. Hear a deer snort and prance away. Later the Woodpeckers, Warblers, and House Wren begin to chime in.

Mid Morning Melody: 09:10 min

It’s a balmy Spring morning near a large creek in Pennsylvania. The brush near the creek transitions into woodland. This is a great place to listen to Chestnut-sided, Hooded, Canada, and Black-Throated Green Warblers, Rose Breasted Grosbeak, and American Redstart. Also hear Ruffed Grouse, House Wren, Crow, and more.

Total Run Time: 72:52 min.
