Michigan Upper Peninsula: Relax to the Sounds of Nature

Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is a peaceful wilderness rich in wildlife diversity. With a habitat of swamps and forests, surrounded by the Great Lakes, the sounds of nature abound. This nature CD brings you the delightful sounds of crickets, birds, frogs, a wolf, and more. The nature sounds were recorded at their best, during June, and are free from any added music. The tracks are edited to allow for nearly seamless transitions during looping. Enjoy the lifelike sounds of Thrushes, Warblers, Flycatchers, Gray Tree Frogs, Woodpeckers, White-Throated Sparrows, and a light rainstorm. Anyone who loves the outdoors will enjoy this CD.

Extended Sample from the Receding Storm track:

Track List:

Superior Forest: 12:00 min.

In the woodlands, a few miles south of Lake Superior, listen to this mid-morning chorus of Pine and Black-throated Green Warblers, Hermit Thrush, White-breasted Nuthatch, Eastern Chipmunk, Blue Jay, woodpeckers, distant Sandhill Cranes, and more.

Copper Forest: 14:59 min.

On a bright, sunny morning, at a remote hilltop within the Copper Forest, crickets chirp as Rose-breasted Grosbeaks sing in the trees above. Ovenbird, Red-eyed Vireo, Song Sparrows, various warblers, and an Annual Cicada are also heard in this relaxing soundscape.

Porcupine Mountains: 16:55 min.

A huge volume of gnats and mosquitoes are a feast for the flycatchers and warblers. On this breezy, warm morning, hear many Least Flycatchers, Eastern Pewees, Chestnut-sided Warblers, and White-throated Sparrows, in a rich chorus with woodpeckers, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Song Sparrow, and more.

Receding Storm: 14:58 min.

After a long rainstorm, birds emerge in a flurry of activity to create this wonderfully rich chorus. Listen to White-throated Sparrows, Chestnut-sided Warblers, Robin, Woodpeckers, Chickadee, and more. A single rumble of thunder rattles the forest, as water continues to drip from the trees.

Cranberry Lake: 19:00 min.

Along the shores of this remote lake, just as the daylight fades into darkness, hear the last songs of the Hermit Thrush, Robin, White-Breasted Nuthatch, Chestnut-Sided Warbler, White-throated Sparrow, and the chatter of a Red Squirrel. Whip-poor-wills, Barred Owl, a distant Wilson’s Snipe, and a Timber Wolf are heard after dark. Grey Tree and Green Frogs are heard throughout.

Total Run Time: 77:52 min.
